Freelance Radio Episode 4

The fourth episode of Freelance Radio, the official FreelanceSwitch podcast, is now online and ready for you! It’s another long one, but we’re actively taking steps to shorten the content so it’s a bit more manageable for all the listeners. This episode, we talk about applying for jobs and gigs online, “trending” and scent branding. We’re sans Dickie, but we still have all the vivacious freelance content you’ve come to know and love!

Subscriptions to the podcast are available via iTunes and an archive of all podcasts will appear in the podcast section. We hope you enjoy it!

The Shownotes:

  • Money Matters/Legalese:We talk about some things to keep in mind with lawyers. After all, suing isn’t always an option.
  • Word of Mouth: We talk about applying for jobs/gigs online, and some things to remember when doing so.
  • Fantastic Forum Post and Mailbag: The panel reads through a great forum post about whether or not to go along with a client’s bad instincts/taste and reads some listener mail.
  • Giveaway: We announce the winner of last week’s giveaway (50 credits from FlashDen.net ).
  • Freelance Radio Recommends…: Each panelist recommends a freelancing tool. John goes with Handbrake, a DVD-ripping utility. Cyan notes how interesting scent branding is (see an article on it at fastcompany.com), and Kristen goes with the book The Well-Fed Writer: Back for Seconds.
  • Outro: This week’s song is by Robert Valente and is called The World’s Just a Circle. The song can be obtained by found on iTunes, CD Baby and RobertValente.com.
